Wow thanks for all the replies. I see there are a lot of complex timetabling systems. It's taking me a while to kind of understand each system. I wished I was able to leave school grounds in spares wedged between classes. Lol, theres hardly even a fence to contain us all

1) I have 5 spares because I do 5 subjects. If you do 4 subjects, you get 10 spares

2) 50 minutes on Tuesday, thursday and Friday. 45 minutes on Monday, Wednesday, mainly because there's assemblies on Monday and everyone in the school get to leave at 1:35 on Wednesday

3) if you have a single or double free in the morning, you can come later. If you have a single or double free in the afternoon, you can leave earlier. If you have a single or double free in the middle of the day, you have to study

4) we're meant to study in our frees or if you do an instrument you go to your music classes or if you're doing a LOTE, you need to practice conversational skills with a teacher aid at least once a week

5) 5 periods a subject

@Furbob, is the year 12 treehouse actually in a tree? What do you do in there.?

@Werdna, are you voluntarily tutoring?

@Pixon, the layout of my school library's tables was inspired by MGS lol

@EPL.11.4eva, extracurricular activities sounds fun. I have the option of doing some on my Wednesday afternoons
WHOO 10 frees a week next year. :D :D can't wait!

azngirl and I go to the same school, so my answer's the same as hers.

Also, I'm frustrated I haven't got my timetable yet - and hence don't know my teachers. :(

@Meneng, the timetable is up on the school intranet now....and I think I might need to edit my post because we now have a period 7!!! And I have 10 frees!!!

2) 75mins
that's just silly.

The 75 min periods started at my school when I was in year 7, so I never knew any different. But I like it. Because of it I now think that 50 minutes isn't enough to do anything substantial in class.

i agree, at my schol we have 4 80 mins period a day, split into one in the morning, then half of one, recess, the rest of the half, a full period, lunch then one more.
I think i get more work done and i can actually get stuck into it without having to stop helps especially with maths, but atm i have MME and GMA right after each other so that sucks. We have 3 classes per week per subject so 6 in a fornightly cycle. i have 2 spares in yr 11 a week and yr 12 i should get 6-8 80 minute spares a week :)

So I'm guessing all your classes are basically singles, no need for doubles or anything like that?

@ghost
Yeh all singles no double, unless your doing 2 maths and you the timetabelling that you fall into has them back to back you kinda have a double maths but it's different maths:p
I lile that system better, I reckon homework is slightly less due to les subjects in the day which is a positive

Yeah, at first I thought that 80 minutes was far too long for one subject, but when you think about it's more like a super effective single!

1) we 9-10 spares...dnt remember which one though:P
2) our periods go for 75minutes (4 periods)
3) we MUST stay at school...thats right...840-330 EVERYDAY =="
4) aboustely not very flexible. we have set classes that we get assigned to, must remain within that class and no leaving school grounds. but in terms of what we do, obviously it's for study...if we choose to
5) around 6 periods per subject..

NOTE. this is based on a fortnight period!
