anybody plan on doing this?
leech the CD from someone doing the same unit and bringing in a laptop instead of forking out so much cash on the textbooks?
i am seriously considering this as the books have ridiculous prices...

You won't need most of your books. Uni is different from VCE because most of what you need to know for exams and such is often already in your lecture slides that are available on Blackboard. Textbooks are only for further explanation, clarification and details and consequently don't need to be consulted that often. When they do, just going to the library tends to suffice. Only those which you use on a regular basis warrants purchasing them really, so wait until the semester starts and see what you actually need. Regarding the CDs though, have a look through here to download them instead.

Someone on this forum i forget who, has survived uni so far by only using ebooks.

So it definetly is possible if you're look to save cash.

(Although for me personally im not a big fan of reading ebooks, i much prefer the actual book)
