Study Techniques

I know this has sort of been covered before, but if we can get all great tips for studying techniques that would be awesome!
What kind of techniques do you find most effective? Reading? WRiting ? Highlighting? Mind maps?
How often do you study and how fast do you study ? ( amount of work done per hour)

And you will not find a single study technique that is not contradicted by another one.

I was simply giving options.

It is known knowledge (and accepted) that no study technique works for everyone and that a good student will always find what works best for them (after being given advice, researching, etc.). Studying is a personal issue and no two people go about it in the same way.
