Pracs usually have practical notes for you to buy/print off. If you need to write a report then you'll need paper, just buy a single carbon copy notebook and use it for all your pracs.

Most people don't take notes in a book in lectures, they write on the lecture slides (I then write out my notes into A4 books at home). And tutes...been ages since I had a tute but I took notes there. You won't get through an entire book though.

I bought 8 A4 books from officeworks earlier this month for $10 and they'll cover me for this semester + some of next semester

Where you write on the page and it makes a "carbon copy" on the page beneath it (or if you forget to put the cardboard sheet in, the next 10 pages)

No special layouts but they let you keep a copy yourself in case yours gets lost

Probably, they're available most places. I bought mine from uni because I turned up the morning of the prac without anything but you can get it anywhere

In 2010, I checked out Officeworks and they didn't have the carbonless notebooks.  The ones that they sell at Officeworks, you need to put a piece of "carbon" beneath the page you write on so that it "carbon copies".

The ones that they sell at the UoM bookshop don't need that thing.  Just write and tear.
