A truncus is when the degree is '-n' and 'n' is a even natural number

A hyperbola is when the degree is '-n' and 'n' is an odd natural number

I like my way

heyguys a simpl eenough question but my brain is failing on me right now....

if g(x)=6-x+x^2 and t(x)=2x^2-5x+1 and g(x)=t(x) how do i find x?

i let them = each other?
or set up simultaneous equations? atm i have let them = each other and have
6-x+x^2=2x^2-5x+1
5=x^2 - 4x
then do i divide by 4 or??

and help with anouther 1 :)
f(2)=7 and f(-2)=-5
the equation of the linear function is f(x)= give answer in from of ax+b....
help please :) and sorry to be filling thread up with a 1/2 question

5 = xsquared - 4x

xsquared - 4x - 5 = 0

Factorise.

For the second part sub (2,7) and (-2,-5) into y=ax+b then solve for a and b which will give you the equation. I think i read the question properly :s a bit hard to understand.

(2,7) -> 7=2a+b
(-2,-5) - > -5=-2a+b
solve simultaneously
