Can anyone who has been through the orientation program before recommend any events/sessions throughout the week we should really try to go to?

i.e. free beer anywhere? :P

Tuesday after the host group sessions will be Sherry Party, which should be in university square (unless it gets changed).

Friday from 12:30-2:30 is the MORE BEER bbq, which is in Old Met(alurgy), building 166. There's a courtyard with a barbie in the middle of the building - it's awesome. Definitely come along to that. Most club barbeques will have long lines and a limited supply of alcohol, so you'll generally only get 3 or so beers.More Beer, on the other hand, (unofficially) encourages you to go nuts, so you can drink as many as you want and when it's all done we go get more slabs. ;) Absolutely worth the $10 or whatever it is to join.

By the way, become a union member at the start of O-Week. It will save you $30+ in club membership fees on top of all the savings throughout the year.

Which ones specifically? The tour starts at 10 and finishes whenever your group decides to stop. It'll probably go until at least 12 or so, probably a bit longer.

- Showing you around the uni and pointing out places you'll need to know (student centres, libraries, pubs, lawns, etc).
- Getting a small group of people on a first name basis and hopefully getting them to make a friend or two who's in the same position as them.
- Giving you an older student for a couple of hours to ask any questions about uni life and get real answers back, rather than the stuff you get from student centre staff who don't deal with social type stuff and have to be careful what they say when it comes to official communication.
