Is this a good idea?

Well I have decided to change my vce plan of doing 7 vce subjects in yr 11 ...
Year 11
English 1/2
General Maths 1/2
Biology 1/2
Health 1/2
Legal studies 1/2
Texts and traditions 3/4 ( Aim: 40+)

Year 12
English 1/2
Biology 3/4
Health 3/4
Legal studies 3/4
And take uP units 3/4 of business mgt

Anyone doing 5 unit 3/4 subjects ?

I could've done B.M in yr 11 and not do uniits 1/2 of health but I thought it might be stressful and I want to ace texts n trad... I'd just like to hear everyones thoughts . Thx.

It seems a bit unnecessary to do the extra 1/2s, why not drop general maths 1/2, or even health/legal? since you don't really need the 1/2 for those subjects..

Definitely not worth it i think, it'll just stress you out a whole heap they wouldn't even let us take more than 6 subjects at our school i think, would screw with the timetabling.

Also as vexx said why are you doing those two subjects if they don't lead to any 3/4?

Looks fine. If you're doing maths in year 11 for the prerequisite, then go for it. 7 subjects in year 11 is definitely doable. =)

Big mistake. Don't do extra subjects (that you won't complete the sequence for) if you KNOW in advance, that you won't be. If you were doing subjects with the intention of actually completing them, but at the end of the year you changed your mind, that would be fine. But since you know you won't be finishing the 3&4s of those subjects, it'll be a big waste of your time.

General Maths 1/2  ( i just need these units for uni)

The reason why they're even doing the fifth 1/2 would appear to be as a prerequisite for university so saying that it's a "big waste of your time" is slightly untrue.

personally I'd keep the 2 3/4's but dont do 7 subjects in total as you'd need more time allocated towards working hard for your 3/4's~ but eh, you're 1 step ahead of me :(

School policy forces me to take GMA 1/2...even though 'i know in advance' I'm not going to be taking Spesh...

This.  I would almost definitely ditch Bio 1/2, as from what I have heard, it is next to useless.  Also, unless you need General Maths for your course, then get rid of this.

Another option is instead of doing General Maths this year, drop it and do Further 3/4 next year, and this allows you to eliminate another 3/4.  Further Maths is ridiculously simple and doesn't really require a lot of prior knowledge.

Nah, I'm saying she should get rid of something such as 1/2/3/4 Legal, and instead do 3/4 Further if she needs it for her course.   Possibly do the 1/2 General Maths this year if she is not that confident with maths.

At my school, if you do 2 3/4s in year 11, you are forced by school policy to take 7 subjects in year 11 (because we must do 5 in year 12). If you're bright enough to do two 3/4s in year 11, you should be capable of coping with 7 subjects. Plus, GMA is a fairly awesome subject (if you like maths), and even then you don't need to worry about pressure because you don't have plans to continue on to Spesh.  But, in saying that, in the case that one of your 3/4s don't turn out as you'd hoped, you can always take up spesh.
You need GMA for your uni prereq, so there's not a lot to discuss unless you're willing to give up your uni course. So basically, I'm just reassuring you in that you should be fine with your subjects. I did 7 last year and I seemed to cope. And especially at my school, having spares is just a waste of time.

What? They'd only force you to do Methods if you were doing GMA 1/2, not the other way around, sounds suss

And i'd say you're better off doing Legal definitely, I'm sure Health is a subject in which you could skip 1/2 and still do fine, the other ones are better off with 1/2 experience

I'm also sure, you can do Legal 3/4 without 1/2, as a friend of mines did that , and she still did exceptionally well.
