What is the point of having so many tests?

Seriously, I have about 6 tests a week for my subjects, if anything they detract you from studying and you waste time which could actually be used for learning. I'm not saying to have no tests, but there are way too much!

Your teachers are probably keen on ensuring that knowledge is retained and can be applied. Whether it is a good approach or not is hard to say
vce: english, methods, spesh, chemistry, physics, geography.

Although 6 tests a week is a little much, I personally am actually quite grateful for tests.

1. They force you the really study (instead of procrastinate).
2. They give you great practice for actual SACs (the question style, honing in on the little things that lose 1 or 2 marks etc.)
3. They're great for the teacher to see how you're actually going with the content.
4. They're great for yourself to check your improvement and what you can expect for your next SAC.

I do so much reading for philosophy/renaissance that a test really forces me to take a step back, look at the concepts and gain a concrete understanding instead of just waffling about with 100's of pages of reading. It's also a great bridge between the overload of information/content and important assessments.

Tests are great. You can show off if you beat people and if you don't then it doesn't even matter.

And tests are good for figguring out where you need to put more work in. 6 Tests in one week isn't that bad -and if they're diagnostic then you're not even studying for them so you're not wasting that much time.

This. Once you get behind once in year 12, it takes ages to catch up. Procrastination is the enemy.

I think six is a little bit too much, at least 3-4 should be good. I assume you would not always have tests six times per week and this is just a one time, so just make the most of it while  you can.
Ancient Persian Proverb; " I Wept because i had no Shoes, until i saw a man with no feet!"

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.

I get very few tests, only for maths actually. Wouldn't mind it for other subjects though, could be helpful.

Offtopic: Thushan, do you ever go to Glen Waverley Library? If so, were you there wednesday? :P (Was with another VNner who swore it was you)

Why are you doing 6 subs this year when two will not count?
