Requirements of VCE Premier's Award?

I have been coerced to believe that recipients are the top 5 in each study. Or a 50, whatever comes first.
So apparently I should get a Premier's Award for my VET subject.

Can someone verify eligibility reqs?

The requirement is top 5 in each study.

In larger studies, there are more than 5 people receiving 50s. The five 'best' 50s will be chosen.

In smaller studies, there are usually less than 5 people receiving 50s. In which case all the 50s will receive Premier's Award, as well as the next best few making up a total of 5 people.

It comes down to the exams. They review all the exams for every student who got a 50 and decide who wins based on the best essays/responses.

I believe that scenario isn't possible. From what I understand, they select the five students with the highest scores. It would only make sense if they look at the scores before they round off for the SS (otherwise all 50s will be equally eligible), which means they are comparing the statistically calculated raw GAs (the step of SS calculation before raw score). Due to statistical moderation, unless two schools have the same number of students and the sets of students achieve the exact distribution of scores, any two students' moderated SAC score will be different (even by a tiny amount, like 0.0002 or something silly like that). This means there will always be 5 best achieving students.

But this is just a mathematical speculation. They may possibly review the exam, though I dare say that is very subjective and possibly unfair (not that a numerical approach is any fairer).

I believe last year it was like, halfway through the year, or at least pretttty damn late to the point that you don't really care anymore. You get a letter.
