Ill probably get like -10 but I just want to have a say. Random people are just giving -1 respect to any post. Ive seen a maths problem solved, appreciated by the O.P but some dumb ass' give -1 .
Wtf?

I'm for a poll about whether to abolish it or to add a reasoning for giving a -1 just like the good old karma.

-______-
2011:
Aims-
English 35, Further 45+, Methods 35, Physics 32, Turkish 33, Legal 28.

Totally agree, anonymous statistics can never be credible and it's just getting out of hand

There WAS a poll, you guys voted equally for either keeping old karma system or having a "thanks" button http://vce.atarnotes.com/forum/index.php/topic,36855.0.html

"After talking about this with mods... justifications:
- unnecessarily creates "hierarchies", differentiates members
- bruised egos from negative karma
- a silly way of judging someone's contribution to the forum considering half the karma given out is for stuff like making a funny/rude rather than "

I can't see ANY difference. That said, I don't think random -1's make a difference, they can just leave you asking why =x
vce: english, methods, spesh, chemistry, physics, geography.

But with respect, everyone can see the -1, usually on the person who gets karma'd and then person giving karma notice the -1. Hence, it becomes a different issue.

If someone negative karmas you, or positively karmas one of your posts, and your in the same topic as them, and you realize it, you can go to Who's Online, and catch the culprit, or the one who gave you karma, provided they aren't hidden.

Just my two cents here, I'm sure this will be a useful tool for some :D

PS: Just found it out today
About Philosophy

When I see a youth thus engaged,—the study appears to me to be in character, and becoming a man of liberal education, and him who neglects philosophy I regard as an inferior man, who will never aspire to anything great or noble. But if I see him continuing the study in later life, and not leaving off, I should like to beat him - Callicle

Thats how I found out who has been -1'ing me in bio threads, I know who the other 'hidden' person (namely 'ATAR') is (they can't be seen on the Who's Online thing).

hahah i love this change, now I can see who -1s otherwise normal posts lol

And @David, did you say there was a way to check which of your posts had had their respect changed? I looked at my post history but there's nothing there

Still working on that second part... And by working, I mean, I plan to start working on it soon. Just need to finish up a couple more things first.
