How many hours would you guys suggest spending on Maths Methods each night?

30 mins to an hour? or more?

Thanks

As long as it takes to finish the exercise you did in class + revision of the concept.

The time taken really depends on your speed at completing the work, and the length of the actual exercise.

For me it would depend on what other hw/study i have, if i dont have any sacs or anything i would work ahead. 40 minutes should be sufficient tho.

I'd say 30 minutes EVERY night would be more than enough.

Is this what you did :P

Yeah, do as much as you feel necessary. No point doing repetition of stuff you already know...

30 mins a night is huge if you do it right :)

I think you are expected to do 50 hours of homework a unit?

So you will have surpassed it long before exams if you keep that up :)

It really depends on a lot of things. Mainly I'd say on a normal school night, you'd just need to revise what was taught/do the homework. Before SACs you would need to organise all your revision and probably plan to do more work each night.

I never did Methods work according to a time constraint. I organised my study on priority. For instance if I had no other work (unlikely!!) I'd do only Methods/Psych (my 3/4s at the time). If I'd just finished a Psych SAC and had no other homework I'd do only Methods. Sometimes I wouldn't touch Methods for a few days (when there was nothing due immediately/more important things due). So you don't need to feel compelled to do 30 mins every day - so long as you are understanding the material taught, consolidating it and revising it on a regular basis, you'll be fine.

Everybodys advice here is good, i did about one hour every second day and ten min each day..on the weekends was also roughly one hour, but you also have to judge it n your priorities, like when you have exams and sacs and stuff. believe me an hour is not too much, goes really quickly when your actually studying!
Ancient Persian Proverb; " I Wept because i had no Shoes, until i saw a man with no feet!"

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.

depends what school u go to, some schools teach u enough in class that u only need to revise abit at home, wereas others rush too fast and u get lost.

All very helpful tips here  :)

I go to Simonds Catholic College VCE campus, and have found that my Methods teacher isn't too bad. He explains concepts quickly but clearly in class, so I think with a lot of revision, I'll be fine.  :D

LOL I went to Mac.Rob; Methods teacher was pretty lousy. Plus you weren't allowed to ask questions. Which sucked, because how else are you meant to clarify your doubts in Maths?
