Bachelor Of Science?

What does Bachelor of Science mean?

I was checking it up on the vtac course search and saw that alot of people get into science.
I did some research and found that you can major in different subjects, ones like Civil-Engineering, Mechanical-Engineering, Managament, Marketing and many more from different fields of study.

If you major in lets say, Engineering, does that mean you can work as an engineer when you get your diploma?

Can someone who knows about this topic help me out?

A Bachelor of Science is a university degree.  I'm not sure how else to describe it.  It's just like any other degree such as Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Engineering, etc.

What I'm interested in is that you said:

Which Bachelor of Science degree lets you major in Management and marketing?  If you want, you can list the course code and we can try and help you out a little more.

In many cases you'll need to do a professional entry degree once you finish your undergraduate (bachelors) degree.

So if you major in engineering, you'll have to do a Masters of Engineering to qualify to work in that field

I think usually if you take general courses ( like Science) you would need to do further study or degree.
Ancient Persian Proverb; " I Wept because i had no Shoes, until i saw a man with no feet!"

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Yes that's correct and I believe Russ mentioned this earlier in the thread.  Your employment opportunities can be vastly expanded by doing postgraduate studies with the B.Sci degree.

I've been tossing up between BEng/BAeroEng@MU and BSci-ME@UoM for quite some time now, and still am and will for a while yet :(

The main purpose of people doing a general degree is that they are unsure of what designated area they want to go into. They may like science but not sure what part they want a career in.
People also do general courses for them to be able to study a wide range of subjects.
