In terms of the VCAA moderation process that is in coordination with the current approved VCAA English Outcome Criteria Sheet, it states that a 70% is equivalent to a C and 80% is equivalent to a B
These grade marks are subject to the official VCAA statistics and not the general schools assumption of what the actual marks may be.
grade cut-off as per the Grade Distribution in a year's cohort. there is no clear cut distinction as to whether 70% is a C or is that really 72% or 68% until the grade distribution is released for the study for that particular year, and that is only an indication to the following year, not the exact scheme. these grades are only indicative for SAC purposes, as for the actual SS calculations and the actual statistics, they play a very small part [if at all]
These indicative SAC scores are then moderated, hence the grades/percentages really have little meaning without information on the cohort and their predicted performance in the exam.
