Yeah it was exam conditions... bastards took up my only double free :P.

I don't think cheating would really be that necessary though Rohitpi, nothing in the SAC was that hard. Just required a little bit of revision.

Its just that last year, I know of two people in my class who wrote their SAC at home and then handed that in for A+. The way you guys had to do it is better.

i had a question like that on my sac too about the biological catalysts. i included that theyre not used up int he reaction but didnt include that it lowers activation energy D:
btw wat do you have to include wen you have to design ur own expirement. the teacher didnt even tell us how to write one up! imma so pissed :(
it sed on the sac tho that you had to include control variables, independend and dependent varaibles and expected outcomes - all that for 4 marks.
i did that except i didnt include any aim or method (it didnt tell us to? :/) but i included an 'expiremental outline' thingy.
how many marks do you reckon i got for this q. ? :O

2 marks probably. that's bad that  your teacher didn't go over it and expects you do to do it.
My teacher said
1 mark aim
1 mark expected results
2 marks methodology including controls, etc.

25/25 for SAC 2 - Stoked

Teacher didn't give marks for the first one, just a "stamp"

i reckon i got around 22/25 for that
I also managed an A+, not 100% though... still haven't got the first SAC back though.

Btw bazza16; your troll equation doesn't work [well, only in letter form it does] because in many steps, you are actually multiplying by 0.

True shinny, but the question was only worth 1 mark, and our teachers always tell us how MHS students have this tendency to over-answer every question, so I just gave the basic definition.

Will see what I get :P.

we didn't get that :S

i think i'll have lost that mark

i explained,
- was biological catalyst
- how it lowers activation energy and speeds up rate of reaction

- no example
-FORGOT to say it's not used up :( so pissed at myself.
and my teacher marks hard as, so i'll get 0/1 for that

When you guys are talking about including an example in your answer for enzyme definition.
Do you mean:
A) (eg. Amylase)
or
B) An example of an enzyme is amylase, which catalyses the breakdown of startch into sugar.

Thanks.

SAC 1: 24/25
SAC 2: 23/25

47/50 ~ 94%

So angry at myself though because for SAC 2 I lost a whole mark for not doing a proper hypothesis  >:(

Haha yeah, but I made a lot of careless mistakes losing me a lot of marks.

Man I got 23.5/25, I lost a half mark when I said that protein gets denatured by pH, but didn't go into detail about how it gets denatured. I lost the other mark because for the question "How an enzyme works" I described the induced fit model and how it forms a complex, but didn't mention that it lowers activation energy. Tell me that's not careless :(.
