Biology books?

So I'm wondering what are good biology revision books?
I am currently using Nature of Biology as a text book and Biozone.
I was thinking about getting the Neap Unit 3 book but I heard it's rubbish.

Get NEAP, its written by the Chief Assessor, so the author clearly knows what he is on about. Checkpoints is a waste of money, and A+ notes are useful for exam revision only.

checkpoints is ok. i look at the answers at the back sometimes to help me know how to structure my answers.
i agree with bazza that it doesnt matter wat txtbk you use - biozone is definitely really good to help you clarify things
the Neap book is like too short :L
there should be a thick version of it (like checkpoints) but calld Neap

I've found checkpoints pretty useless as they just use the VCAA exam questions... which you end up doing anyway and it doesn't help practising with questions you have already answered.
I use Nelson and this random study guide...
IMO, I think one text and one study guide are more than enough... main revision should come from note-taking and practice exams :)

I've already started doing some. And I know I won't run out because I have a stack but I think it's up to you when you want to start doing practice exams.

ye but i guess it depends how you learn.
im defnitely not starting on exams yet tho cause i still have to learn about cellular respiration and photosynthesis ^^
... and the whole of AOS2 ==
thats why i like doing checkpoints cause it splits those type of exam q.s into sections :)

I'm going to finish summarizing the N.O.B. text book for Unit 3 / finish the Biozone book in the holidays, than do 2 prac. exams a week during term first 3 weeks, 4 prac. exams a week for the other 5 I think it is. About 26 total, maybe do 30 if I feel like I'm not doing well enough on the practice exams a month before the exam.

Imo practice exams are super important especially for Bio like bazza said, so you should do a lot of them, but I personally feel like I wouldn't really retain much if I did a lot of them in the holidays.

This is a much better approach.

Staggered exams accompanied by constant revision/writing up of notes is going to be more beneficial in the long run.
