I've got plans....LOL

Got a Premiers Award and the Australian Student Prize! Couldn't be happier :D
Are only one of these handed out?
Yeah, I think so. The Premier's Award only.
No i meant the "Australian Student Prize"
Btw, congratulations, remarkable achievements!

It's given to the top 500 students in Australia.
On average, what's the cutoff in terms of ATAR?

ATAR isn't used as part of the calculations. Uses individual study scores without scaling.

Now to decide what to do with the $2,000. ;)

Save save save!

Too bad Peter Garrett's ugly name is printed on the certificate.  It detracts from the awesomeness of the award.  :p

Are you SURE about that? Is that published anywhere, or just assumed? I got one, and whilst my scores were good enough got 99.95, my raws weren't brilliant among top performers. I know that schools have to nominate students, so perhaps they consider ATAR/outstanding achievement in certain subjects. Olympiad also matters (I know for a fact that medallists automatically receive the prize).

Definitely not sure about it lol.

Was just quoting from the above thread. :P

Quote
The order of merit for the award of the prize is based on their Australian Student Prize score. In Victoria, the Australian Student Prize score is calculated by the addition of the Study Scores obtained in the past two years for the best four studies plus ten percent of Study Scores obtained in up to a maximum of two other VCE studies. Extension studies undertaken at University and VET studies may contribute to the score.

Yup, that's what it says on the VCAA website. Hmm, interesting... I wouldn't have thought my raws were strong enough, but oh well.

Yeah I wouldn't think the Australian Student Prize would go on ATAR, my score wouldn't be in the top 500 in the state and I got one. Very nice surprise.

I got one too - I reckon if you get 2+ 50s, or three high 40s scores, you're probably in.
