The Age VCE Expo - expressions of interest

Whether you want to do general stuff like man the stall or bombard people with flyers, or want to give advice on specific subjects, please post here with your name, which day(s) you're free, and what you'd like to do :)

This isn't a commitment on your part yet - I just want to see if there's sufficient interest for this to work

NB: the expo is on Friday 6 May, Saturday 7 May and Sunday 8 May from 10am - 4pm

Should be free the Saturday and Sunday - might only go one day though depending on what else I've got on. Regarding what to do, give advice I guess - mainly English, Bio and BM for specific advice, but open to general advice on any of my others. Can also give advice on general study advice and playing the system, UMAT and anything else about Med (given that it's a careers day, I assume this will be fairly popular and it is at my tuition sessions at least).

I would come but I would be too shy. Sorry hope you find more people
Ancient Persian Proverb; " I Wept because i had no Shoes, until i saw a man with no feet!"

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.

I'm up for either of the weekend days (Have school on Friday I think) if you're short on people. I can do any of the general stuff, but I probably wouldn't be great at the whole giving advice for subjects thing (could only really do legal studies effectively).

Also, we don't have to pay the admission fee if we are helping out with a stall right?

If it comes to them trying to force you to pay admission, we'll handle it and either tell them to rack off or pay for it ourselves. Either way you'll be fine, but I'm fairly sure you'll be able to get in for free as an exhibitor.

I might be available, but the week of May 9 is exam week for mid sems and it would depend on how much work I get done over the break.

I'd do the same thing as Open Day I guess, explain the site, how things work, give advice on HS/uni pathways etc.

Yeah this.  Mid sems are bugging me and making me feel unsure.
