You don't have to rock up. I emailed the faculty and they basically said that they will be changed after the session, so hopefully on Friday.
Thanks :)

Thanks :)

You probably should have gone today. There was some important information given out about the first assignment we have in Introduction to Legal Reasoning and your credit from your previous course can't be transferred until you sign something.

Also some other key administrative details given out about the ILR unit, student services and the MLSS.

Just read that ^. So frustrating, wouldn't have gone away if I knew it was important. Our contact at the law faculty said it was fine to miss. I'm assuming the information will be on moodle.
*mini stress*
Has everyone else had their course updated on WES? I'm still down as Arts/Sci

Edit: Feeling so ridiculously stupid GRR. If anyone typed notes or anything like that, assuming it wouldn't be too much trouble for you, I would kiss the ground you walked on for a year if you sent me through the assignment info D:

eOkee I know about 5 people who have transferred into Monash Law without difficulty. They look at your previous marks at your prior University in order to determine whether you are fit or not.

Bren, if you need more info after taking a look at the notes, let me know and I'll try to whip something up.

5600 x Thank you and 34534645645 backflips of gratitude (should it come to that).
I'll have a look once I actually get some moodle access and look at the assignment!

Any idea when it's due, though, anyone?

There... really wasn't anything important that they said, at least in our thing. Just a very brief overview of the first assignment. Nothing you can't read up on from the unit guide.

Does anyone know of anyone who has transferred with a WAM of less than 75%?

Don't think the unit guide can be found online, and Moodle has not enrolled me into Law Units (or any 2014 units) as yet, so can't find it there.

The ladies there that day said all would have their course changed on WES by last Tuesday (28th Jan). If it still hasn't changed, contact them for info. You may not have changed to the new course because you haven't signed for your credit to transfer to your new course (as we did that day).

Due on April 17 at 10am, but would definitely advise you to start visiting courts for your selected topic before semester starts. You probably won't get much of a chance to do that once semester starts...at least according to the teacher who spoke to us.  :-\

From memory there'll be a bit of a chance once the sem. starts, but yeah, easier to get it done before hand. Imo the easy way is just check the Magistrate's Court times online, head into the city for a couple of hours and sit in on a few cases. They'll mostly be stuff like traffic offences that aren't that exciting, but you can move between them pretty easily and there's usually something in dispute (e.g. even if a def. is pleading guilty to driving while suspended there may be some argument over mitigating factors and such). All you really have to do is sit there and take a few notes, try and get as much detail as you can, but if you don't get everyone's name or don't understand some of what's going on it's no big deal.

Yep, all good advice. When I did it last year I went up to some lady at the front desk to let her know I was doing an assignment, and she wrote down a bunch of courts that had interesting cases/high turnover/something.

Does Monash favour Monash students for transfers or is there an equal chance to transfer from any university?
