40+ study scores?
« on: June 23, 2008, 09:06:43 pm »
Jus wonderin guyz, what grades u need for Sacs n exams to get a 40+ study score? I think to get 40+ u need to be in the top 8% of kids in that subject and i've seen da grade distribution from vcaa n in most subject there were
11% or 12% of ppl who got A+. So does that mean straight A+ doesn't always get u 40+ study score?

Anywayz I'm doin chem, physics, eng, methods, specialist. So if anyone did those subjects before pls post ur exp about ur grades.  :D

You can get A+ A+ A+ 39. You can also push into the 40s with an A in there, eg for methods I got A+ A A+ 43

and 40+ is top 9% :)

Wouldn't you assume that if you got straight A+'s for subjects that have two exams, you would be pretty safe in terms of getting a 40 though? I'm pretty sure you would have a 40 in the bag with those subjects.

I think you are missing my point. In terms of your competition, everyone who got an A+ on exam 1 isn't necessarily going to get an A+ on exam 2. Therefore, regardless of how high or low the A+ is, you should get a 40 if you get "A+, A+, A+".

That would be a pretty rare occurrence I would imagine.

Mathematically speaking it would be much less common for somone with 2 A+s in Maths/Science subjects ( 2 exams) to get less than 40 than someone all A+'s with one exam

The converse (or there abouts) applies also.

LEGAL A+ A+ A = 40

I heard of somebody who received A A A+, and they ended up getting a 44 raw. So anything is possible, unfortunately, the scaling process is very complicated. :P

scaling sounds completely inconsistent.
there should be certain quotas and shit.
we shouldn't even be made to have to buy our results.
that's freakin' dogged.
