Do they give the unit 3 sac mark rounded to the nearest integer? And in total do they add your raw sac scores for unit 3 and 4 or do they add together the rounded sac scores?

well you guys are probably unaware, but i had the whole 3/4 subject study score process explained me yesterday

Your ACTUAL SAC MARKS, do NOT count for ANYTHING.
All that your marks do, is rank you in the subject, at your school.

Your subjects rankings are then given to VCAA at the end of the year. What then happens is
you sit the exam, and you get a mark.

That mark, is what you get for your exam score (say 50% or whatever, of the final score)
Then, depending on your ranking, you get the corresponding exam mark, as you sac marks. a tad confusing, but what that means is:

If throughout the year while doing a subject, you ended up with 40/200 for your sac marks - that 40/200 doesn't get processed by the VCAA, you get ranked among everybody taking the subject.

If that 40/200 was enough to rank you FOURTH in the subject,
at the end of the year, you will receive:
- YOUR exam score (50% of final mark)
and
- the FOURTH highest exam mark in your school... which will be then used as your SAC marks (other 50%)

so essentially, you can get 3/200 sac marks all year, but if that gets you ranked 2nd, you will get the second highest exam score from your school, as your sac marks.. (which may be 95% on the exam)

no, the moderation process is not that clear-cut [so that the process can be fair in cases where there are statistical anomalies]

it takes account the GAT, the entire state's performance and their relative SAC performance, as well as the performance within your school's particular cohort to calculate what is known as an "external score" which then get ranked and etc.
