Which of the following liquid substances would you expect to have the lowest surface tension?

Pb
HOCH2CH2OH

Surface tension relates to the amount of intermolecular attraction. The one with lowest surface tension will be the one with the weakest intermolecular attraction (DME). ethanol and ethan-diol are both capable of H-bonding to each other, H2O to a greater extent, and Pb is a metallic lattice (very strong binding energy).
