Item Response Analysis

Hi guys,
So basically our first SAC is tomorrow and it's an item response analysis for our first 4 topics. It's just 12 multiple choice questions in which we get 6 marks per question.
2 marks are for the correct answer plus the working out for it. The other four marks are for showing why the other four solutions are incorrect.
Is this done at other schools? Because I find it to be a really stupid task.

Yep we did ours a couple of weeks aago. Yeah it's a bit pointless but imo it's easier than doing an analysis task.

Ah okay. That's cool then. It just looked a little strange as opposed to some of last years SACs.

Yes!! We had to do the exact same thing last week... it's not too hard once you get the hang of it... you just have to think like a person that makes lots of silly mistakes :P

EDIT: It's actually almost helpful for the MC section of the exam... because you can get rid of the distractors more easily as you have analysed why they are there...

Sorry for the 'necro', but do any of you have an electronic version of any of these sacs by any chance? Just interested. :) Thanks!

My copy is at school so i'll grab it tomorrow and scan it. But you can also just look at any multiple choice question and try to figure out what was done to get the other wrong solutions.

Yeah it's kinda weird but easish to get marks - just make sure you circle an answer and just write some bs down to get some marks :P

And remember to actually write what the person would have done, not just what's wrong with the answer. That cost me around 15% on my sac  :-\

Yes this is what can make this SAC more difficult... sometimes one of the options is really stupid though, and then you just have to write that they "accidently multiplied by 7" or similar... :-\

I think MHS had a SAC like that once in methods (several yrs ago), but apparently scrapped it because all the "brighter" kids couldn't find out how to get some of the wrong solutions :P

Seems like a dodgy/pointless SAC to me though.
