Yeah I know, I was purposely going over the top. Also, the wikipedia data could be out of date etc.

This was just another casual reminder that Monash is superior. ;)
Hah!

I doubt it says 65% GPA because I'm reasonably sure it's just a 65% WAM. They do it for your second and third year only subjects from memory. Just average about 65%.

Most grad courses use WAM instead of GPA, medicine just wants to be special.

With respect to averages, I've had a few exams during semester and here are the class averages:

65% (Immunology 2)
80.5% (Molecule to Malady 2)
77.3% (Microbiology)
69% (Immunology 1)
75% (Molecule to Malady 1)

Ugh, when I checked my Immunology mark in the email I nearly died because I saw 69 and thought that was my grade. >_<

What about the second exam :P

How did you find yesterday? I thought it was way easier than what they could have given us. The long answer questions were utterly predictable and none of the MCQs were anywhere near as complex as the midsems.

Also, draw a FACS plot...gah

Loved the Microbiology exam. Aside from the MC with the grid (which I over thought and frustrated myself), it was a great exam.

Haha, I did that! We studied it in Techniques! Did you find the Immunology exam okay? There was not enough time, a lot of people didn't finish.

I finished on time...was just filling in the last few MCQs when it was time up.

The FACS plot wasn't hard it was just...unnecessary. Didn't see why it was on there. Anyway, yeah I found immunology pretty easy, ending up writing 3 pages for section3. Micro was harder, the short answers were just weird :(

Which grid, the K88/K99 pig vaccination?

Three pages? Jeez - which one did you do? I did the last one (B cell maturation) and that only took two pages with a big ass diagram.

Yeah that question. I just saw the big block of text and was like nup, ain't spending time on this.

I did it in reading time, just to be safe. The 4/4 deaths from unimmunized feeding mothers gave it away thankfully. Roy's 10 mark "short notes on plasmids" was a joke...

I did option 2, molecular mechanisms of APC activation and presentation to T cells and then Th1 differentiation. Just did an infodump of everything I could think of that was relevant :)

Gosh someone has a H1 on the way for both subjects. ;) What are your other two exams?

I hope, my MST2 mark was just scraping an H3 :S

I have the biomed core on friday and breadth which was an essay, not an exam. You? Set for next sem? Which ones are you taking of the electives?

Whaaat! You're so knowledgeable on the bio forums, if I could have picked someone who got the 100% I'd pick you! Was it a bad day or busy week?

Oh, good luck for your core! I'll be taking both Viruses and Parasites + Medical and Applied. I don't really fancy viruses but I don't have the pre-reqs for much else. You?

I just have Techniques on Thursday and I'm done. Can't wait for next semester, the workload will be way less. I'll only have 2 exams.

Yeah but VCE bio is really just revision :)
It was kinda a bad day...I mean 8am...bah. But I missed some pretty obvious ones and just didn't know any of the CCR/CCL pairs, which were on a fair chunk of questions.

Yeah next sem I have biomed core + techniques + medical and applied + some easy breadth. I was talking to Sumone on Thursday and she said medical and applied is easier than principles! Good luck for your last exam, holding out for the holidays. Slash next semester come say hey in class, I forgot you were also in the major :P

I would, but I have no idea what you look like, and calling out 'Russ! ... Russ!' would be very awkward.

I'm thinking about switching out of 'Living Longer: A Global Diagnosis' into a second year breadth. I'll need all the time to concentrate on the 70% report for Science Research Project, ugh.

Haha, I'm the guy who sits front right in Micro with the really annoying group who never shut up.

I'm in Living Longer atm, I'm making a decision on whether or not to stay in it after the exams finish

Hm.. I have no idea. Although have you seen that girl who ALWAYS answers questions, whether it's right or wrong? GOD it makes the lectures drag out.

I'm thinking about doing "UNIB20013 Body, Mind and Medicine: A Dissection". Doesn't look too hard, and there's no exam (yes, I'm one of those people who pick breadth depending on whether there's an exam or not).

She's been doing the same thing in the biomed cores :P I don't care if she answers questions but she's just so annoying about it lol. With my luck I'll draw her as a lab partner for techniques

Not having an exam is a prerequisite for me to choose a breadth...
