Yep, pens are the best to use. BLUE AND BLACK PENS ONLY! Apparently there was trouble last year with someone using purple pen...

I know bio "highly recommends" pens, although I'm a big pencil/pacer user, so I hate pens too.

Not sure on those erasable ones... Interesting...

For accounting, you are allowed to use pencil for the whole exam. However, they want you ("hope" is more accurate) that you use blue/black pen for your theory questions. I would recommend you stick with pencil for the practical stuff.

I don't suggest you use those erasable pens because sometime last year when I was doing a Japanese SAC, my teacher marked my practice SAC and I was going through it in front of the heater when the correcting all disappeared because she was using an erasable pen. Although then I didn't know that you could put it in the freezer to make it reappear and I doubt half the examiners are going to know how to make the writing reappear if your writing is exposed to extreme heat for some reason and disappears.

surely you can cross out things if you need to. It saves more time than having to erase something.

I used to plan my theory answers by writing them out on the question book in pencil, and after fixing up any errors, transfer them into the answer book with pen.

Remember that the darker the pencil (ie 4B, 6B, or even 8B), the more easily and badly it smudges. I would just write fairly firmly with a sharp HB/2B pencil instead.

The accounting teachers at my school have recommended the use of 2B pencils for the exam. For some reason, they hold some sort of vengeance against HB pencils (seriously).

Sounds like something I'd do.
