22/25.. A bit shattered really..
Now I can lose at most 10 marks for SA if the A+ mark is 62 ish :(

I screwed up the non-specific defence for bacteria and chose interferons. I could have sworn the word "bacteria" was not in the question when I did it :(

ethylene is definitely correct. abscisic acid was thought to have caused abscission but we know now that it creates seed dormancy among other things. my notes say:
Abscisic acid: inhibits growth, creates seed dormancy (until overridden by gibberellins), closes stomata
Ethylene: ripens fruit, causes flowers to die, stimulates abscision

did anyone else not get to finish the exam, i was writing crazily for the last 20 mins and still didn't finish the last page! ARGH! it was so long!
alzhaemers question, i chose the 2nd drug in the table? is that the one that stopped the enzyme

Because it breaks down proteins. In this question they were referring to the breakdown of antibodies (which are proteins).

Proteases are enzymes which break down proteins.  Antigens/immunoglobulins are proteins.  Therefore, the protease breaks down the antibody, and the pathogen avoids being captured by the immune system.

Was the poision ivy an allergen therefore causes the whole histamine, mast cell reacton??

I put the histamine thingy for the poison ivy... its an allergen... and it causes inflammation which was the red patches. but how does it cause blisters???

We think that they may accept both but in most cases ethylene is responsible. There are some plants that also have AA involved.

Hmm most of my answers were similar to that, but from the way I write I probably lost at least 50 marks for terrible explanations.

My thoughts exactly. Hate it when you pretty much have the concept, but it's written in a way that's a bit ridiculous and for the most part illegible  haha
