Ok thanks. I apprectiate that information too but I mean, you know how Melb people say they got H2 and stuff. Whats that correspond to for a Monash mark? I've asked before but forgot

Melbourne
H1 = 80-100    First Class Honours
H2A = 75-79    Second Class Honours Division A
H2B = 70-74    Second Class Honours Division B
H3 = 65-69    Third Class Honours
P = 50-64    Pass
N = 0-49    Fail

I usually explain to people my marks in the "Monash" system because the melbourne one just confuses the shit out of everybody.

In order of score:
99 - Mathematics B (Ahmad got 100 for this)
98 - Algorithmic Problem Solving (very basic programming)
93 - Japanese 2A (the subject I actually revised every day)
91 - Physics 1: Advanced (pleasant surprise! wasn't expecting higher than 85)

Basically, a great first semester. Which is probably why I'll be using the holidays to catch up extracurricular stuff.

My average was 77 this semester, which is pretty good for an arts student, but I'm going to have to do better next time.
Meh, a lot of PhB kids don't get it in first year. One of my friends got a mid-credit average last year, yet is still in PhB science (got 80.25 average this semester - same as my PhB arts neighbour who did your ARTS1101 course).

Anyway, results. As usual, some I did much better than expected, others slightly lower:

MATH1007    Poetry of the Universe    HD    90
MATH2405    Math Methods 1 Honours    HD    88
MATH3062    Fractal Geometry & Chaotic Dynamics (Honours Pathway Option)    HD    92
MATH3320    Analysis 2 Honours    HD    90
VCE 2006
PhB (Hons) (Sc), ANU, 2007-2010
MPhil, ANU, 2011-2012
PhD, Princeton, 2012-2017
Research Associate, University College London, 2017-2020
Assistant Professor, University of Virginia, 2020-

Feel free to ask me about (advanced) mathematics.
