The 2011 VCAA section B instructions says to write in blue and black pen, however this isn't specified in the past exams.  Can we write in pencil?

I will end up doing more mistakes in pen which will make it more illegible .. Anyone taking the risk?

Nah, just gonna do it in pen. Would rather it messy than not being marked at all :P

Think about the amount of silly rules they have for this course, do you think they're gonna let you use pencil when it states pen and let it slide?  :buck2:

I think I'll be using pencil, for the calculations and diagrams at least. Surely the scanner can pick it up unless you write very lightly, and it's not like they won't mark it just because you've written in pencil. :/ I'd rather take the risk of pencil than having to scribble everything out if I realise I've done something wrong...

writing in pen wasn't that bad, I just did a quick sketch of the molecules in pencil on my data book and copied it to my exam.

Probably a bit late, but I wrote in pencil for both of my exams last year, and despite being told off by the exam supervisor for doing so, nothing bad happened.

I did the calculations in pencil, but for the key data I wrote with pen over it.

worst start to an exam when 2 of your good pens have run out of ink when they were working properly for most of this year. But ye did calculations in pencil but answering in pen.
