300kg cyclists
« on: June 17, 2011, 09:27:08 pm »
Is that even remotely possible? Especially at those speeds and incline. What a tank, albeit a morbidly obese tank.

In a post-mortem discussion, we concluded that the bike had a lead frame, and the dude on it was very fat wearing armour (like from knights). But that makes it pretty hard to pedal at like 15m/s... Any ideas?

if they changed it to a motorbike with a small engine capacity it might work, and 15m/s is about 54km/h so, cyclist no, motorcyclist probably.

fair point, considering the top motor racing class of bikes, weighs about 165kg plus say 60-70kg for the rider so total mass of say 230kg. so ok they are pushing it.

If we add a sidecar and another rider we might get there, but can you imagine a racing bike with a side car going over 54km/h? just a thought.

It might be impossible, even if the above guy was riding this stone bicycle:

Still not 300kg, thats only around 250kg total

At a 48 degree incline? Impressive to say the least.

True, I can't even see how that guy fit into his clothes (or maybe, I don't want to see how he did it :P ). Even less likely with the stone bicycle...

what about the ventureone, partly both a car and bike but still, weighs 1200pounds which is 544kg and can reach speeds of up to 160km/h and well leans into the corner. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-439163/Is-car-motorbike-Actually-both.html
technically it is a (motor)bike

Lol 300kg is still possible for a motorbike, especially for a heavy beast like the hayabusa.
