What about in New South Wales?

Yes you can do this.

Like doing a degree here than also another degree via distance somewhere else is what I've heard people do. Look at Open Universities - you can do these degrees without having a certain score, regardless of who you are.

Also, friend of mine is doing their masters at monash and finishing his diploma of languages at melbourne right now.

Cool, what language is he/she studying?

Is it arabic?
Why doesn't he/she do his diploma at monash? :)

So, generally speaking in Australia, can you only do two degree at two different universities if you're doing one of them via distance ed or through open universities?

I know you can study a different subject outside your own uni-so doing your degree whilst also studying a single subject somewhere else.
Ancient Persian Proverb; " I Wept because i had no Shoes, until i saw a man with no feet!"

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.

No, lawl not arabic, Japanese. Not sure why, just finishing a diploma he began in his undergrad from Melbourne.

And also no, you can do two degrees simultaneously if you get approved to do them, like i know its possible to do some part-time uni courses on top of another, just need approval for the second if its not via open uni.
like you can start your masters at some unis while already doing an undergrad if you get in, etc
