Do VCE students brag too much about their laziness?

What does everyone think about this?

It seems as though the majority of people do this thinking that it's something to be proud of or just for reassurances when people do fail/muck up and I'm just wondering what people here think about this.

I think it's more of a psychological thing similar to Cognitive Dissonance... Like instead of saying "ohh I studied for 4 hours for the SAC! :O" and then ending up not doing so well on the sac, they act lazy like they didn't study to make themselves feel better just in case they don't do too well on the sac :-\
On the other hand, it could also be as kenhung123 said, to get more credit

I don't brag about how lazy I am, I know I am so why should I announce it to everyone.

At mhs, happens all the time ("man, I am just gonna totally wing this english SAC today). 99% are lying though (he meant: "I only wrote nine practice essays, five under the time limit, and one while doing spesh").

There was something about this in an American "study abroad in Australia" booklet. It pretty much said to ignore your Australian counterparts, as they're mostly lying about not doing any work, and to work hard.

So the Americans think it is in the Australian culture to lie and brag about laziness? :P

I'd say it's a psychological defense mechanism to lie about how much you work.

If you say you work heaps and end up with a bad score this will adversely affect you in comparison to a person who says they did nothing and comes off with a better score.

There's a fine line though and it becomes very annoying when supposedly 'lazy' people pull off ripping scores and quite clearly they're lying.

I don't think laziness is something to 'brag' about. So no, vce students do not 'brag' too much about their laziness.

At uni we do it all the time (sometimes it's actually true) and it does piss people off. Anyway I would prefer saying "I've done absolutely no work for this subject" and pulling off a great mark, rather than saying that I'm totally pumped and going crap. I

t's good because you don't put as much stress on yourself to look better than your peers and you develop a community brag about laziness, even though everybody knows that everyone has been studying like mad. By the way it calms your nerves during exam time.

It is funny when my sisters tell my mum that I don't funny and then she asks me if I do any work and I say yeah of course I do, for this assignment I got -.
