I really think you should just try your best for the next couple of years man, it's way too early to think about it.

Your study score is determined taking into account your sacs, so no, a 48 will never go to a 50 unless some weird shit happens that makes a bunch of smart kids to take further, and it becoming harder.

For 95 it's something like a scaled score of 42 in everything? Didn't check

Aight man. Yeah, I am only 15, but really want to study medicine.

I still don't get the grading (vce) system, ahh, I still need to do research.

whoops, see what I mean, what makes it worse is that I actually wrote too and for some stupid reason changed it! Too much science and maths has put me out of whack, but srsly Markkiieee, if you stick to what you are good at and enjoy, you should do well if you put the effort in as I'm sure you will,

Also if you do further, don't slack off even though it is easy, or it will cost you in the end.

Too* :P

Yeah dude, I won't slack off. I want to aim for a 49+ in further. I see further as an 'easy 50' subject. (Busi man. IT. etc)

Just don't get too overconfident (for further) like I did, a couple of stupid mistakes in the exam, i.e. reading a graph axis slightly wrong and bam, there goes you 48-50 down to a 43-46.

Just read your sig, nice 44 in further dude!!!
Would you say it is ALOT easier than methods?
And did your method skills help in further?

(This is important info I must know.)

Put it this way, methods will help further and further is alot easier than methods in my opinion, but that may be just because maths is my thing. I did further last year while doing methods 1/2. It will help, but half of further is just what you should probably know from yrs 8-10 maths (i.e. linear and trig->the fun bit as long as you do that module). Stats and business is just learning how to intepret the question and using your calc. those are the modules I did, if you do matirces, it's pretty easy too (I got it right this time, feel like an idiot for getting it wrong in the first place). If you are preety good at maths further should be fine, it's just minimising those stupid mistakes. Methods is fun (if you like maths) and spec is there for the challenge. If you do further it is proably good to do it the year earlier (I'm not sure if they let you do all three maths in the same year but your are allowed to do all three but the lowest one is put in the bottom two.)

Further maths makes me wanna punch things ==.
Seriously, drawing box plots and doing simple matrices etc would be the worst thing to study for.. I wouldn't have ANY motivation to do it.

I'm doing GMA this year and I've done some further stuff as well (some parts of further are in the course) and it was probably the worst few weeks ever =/ I actually hated doing that maths ;/

MAN. Don't worry about the whole "DO SPESH TO MAKE METHODZ EASY"/"THIS SCALES BETTER THAN ____" mindset 0_o Just do the subjects you actually enjoy. You'll end up doing better in them anyway.

tl;dr - Do subjects you actually like.

I did Geography, Liked it, put heaps of work into it, got a shit score, and an even shitter scaled score.

Did Physics, hated it, studied max 35 hours all year, got an okay score, and a pretty good scaled score.

what of it?

Yeah Physics Sacs scaling was probably it.

My exam must have been good as to have got what I got (given my b+ sacs). I actually put effort into my sacs though, just got let down by cocky top ranks that ended up getting similar SS's to me due to thinking they had the exam downpat.

... Mark, honestly, you do not need to understand how vcaa allocates marks. Just do the best you can in each subject.... that is all that matters. Besides working hard to hopefully do as well as you can, marking (of VCAA exams and the determining of the final ATAR score) is out of your control and of course out of everyone here's control as well... unless someone so happens to be part of VCAA?! :D :D

Just make sure you do all the pre reqs required for med. If you really wanted to play around with the vce scaling system i.e. wanted an extra boost in your ATAR score... do a language (guaranteed scaling of at least five I believe? Did the Government intervene regarding scaling for languages? Or was that just a rumour...? Please correct me if I'm wrong) rather than a subject that scales down even though the subjects are widely perceived as 'easy.' As Russ said, 'there is no such thing' as an 'easy 50 subject.' Another thing to add, languages are definitely not easy but will scale heaps if you are decent and put effort into it which will ultimately give your ATAR score a huge boost.

Anyway, at this stage, are you really sure you want to do med? You still have more than two years of high school to go, anything can change within that time as cliche as that may sound. Why not keep economics? Personally, I think econ is a very worthwhile subject to study.

... At the end of the day, pre reqs and choosing subjects that you're good at is the way to go.

EDIT: Regarding med, are you aware that entry into med is not solely based on your ATAR score?
