The median this year for Physics exam was a B, and the median = 30 (so a B in mid year and the median SAC and median end of year marks would get you a 30), so a C+ means you were below the median for the mid-year exam. So you'd probably need to do better than a C+ in the end of years to get 30 or above.

Err... isn't a C always the median mark??

Or am I totally wrong..?

I was thinking the middle mark was always a C and that would get you a 30.. but maybe I'm off the mark.

In most subjects C+ will be median, sometimes it can be B (sometimes in lotes it can be B+)
C is almost certainly below average.

I think this is because while the middle of C and C+ is the middle of the 10 letter grades (A+, A, B+, B...), more people score at the higher end than the lower end (10% don't get E etc) so that pushes median up a little bit into C+ range.

It says median for Unit 3 physics 2008 was B on there :)

Hmm... mayb I should've done BSc... bout 3 guys 2 every girl I reckon ;)

And I agree that they've definitely come out a hell of a lot faster this year.

It depends what units you do. Some people choose to do girly units like psych
But I have ratios of ~2:1 - 5:1 overall I guess. The only real accurate one I can give is where there are 34 people enrolled in the course and 5 girls I know about (so possibly 1-2 more hiding)
My labs have the self selecting bias of being at 9/10am which makes the Female Rate above average, my other units are all ~200 peoplez

I'm saying that based off my observations, the earlier in the day a lecture is (8/9am vs 1pm) the less stilted the ratios :P
It just means they can't wake up, they could possibly be unlazy and constructive once awake
