I think it will be relatively easy. People tend to neglect the science subjects focusing more on the math.

I think the word 'relatively' is quite important there. But yes, biology is a subject where I think it is quite a bit easier 'relatively' to score in the higher marks because the state just tends to be...quite..bad at it? Its had a history of ridiculous spreads of marks in the A+ range (losing up to 16 last year i think it was?), so if you study enough, you should be rewarded accordingly

Isn't bio the kind of subject where if you just memorise the whole textbook you will gun the exam guaranteed? If so then it would easily separate those who work hard and those who don't.

lol its not.
you have to know all the stuff in the text book, and apply it to problems you've never encountered before.
yeah its harder than it sounds :s I only got an A in my midyear

I thought so too, but DEFINITELY not. The problem solving/analysis questions (which make up the majority of the exam actually) are a BITCH to do sometimes, and it can get quite hard. Apart from that, theres always the problem of wording answers, and time management of course. So yes, theres much more to biology than just memorisation.

There is much more to biology than just memorisation - answering techniques are very specific.  If you don't answer the question in the correct/preferred manner, you don't get marks.

Also, there is alot of explaining that can be very time consuming, so like shinjitsuzx said, time management can be a problem.

Even if it is very knowledge based, memorisation of a heap of information can still be overwhelming for some.

It's different from the other sciences in that its less calculation based and more recall and apply information.

Relax, it will be easy. I know plenty of people who do biology, who did little or no study.

If you get full marks for GA2 after scaling and full marks for GA3 (just hypothetically :D, assume A+ mark is 115/150, because I think they'll make it way harder after seeing this semester's exam) then what do you reckon was the lowest you could get for GA1 to still have a hope of getting 48ish or 50 even...
