Problem with this is that i enjoy business least, but everyone who I tell that I am going to drop business thinks im an idiot. And that business is basically the best subject to do simply due to how easy it is (therefore getting a high score which is my main aim)

Well if you don't mind doing it, then do it since your getting high scores, which is ultimately your aim. By 'enjoy least' do you mean you hate it, or is it okay, but just not your favourite. If it's the latter i say do it.

Thanks for the last few replies, extremely helpfull.
so the general oppinion is basically.
Economics - more interesting, Business - Easier (to get a high score)
So the question is how does accounting fit in?

The other thing is my parents, and my self want me to move schools for yr12 to a private school, or a better public school. Some people seem to say the school dosent matter, its the student. Although I find this hard to believe when teachers are useless and class sizes are ridiculous (in general math i have about 28 students)

MOVE SCHOOLS MOVE SCHOOLS MOVE SCHOOOLS!

Sorry I got excited. What school do you go to now and what schools are you interested in going to? We might be able to shed some light.

. what school do you go to?
personally I would be interested in going to any school that will benefit me. my parents both agree they do not mind paying a 20large school fee seeing as its only for 1 year and my sisters both had private school educations.

I think the best thing to do is move. B.S.C has a median of 30 which is average. I go St johns in dandy. Our's is 31 but I was happy with my education, I am/was helped a lot because teachers saw my desire to succeed. In return they look after me and make sure I get everything, don't mind doing me favours like getting me extra resources. Brendan knows quite a few good schools. Other people might be able to help too, I'm not too sure

Look, I know people say to pick subjects you'll enjoy for good marks, but let me tell you I absolutely hated business management and would've dropped it if my teacher hadn't been so lovely to me that I felt bad doing that so I kept it :P and I still ended up with 45+ (even tho it's scaled down, when you get above 45 the scale down is minimal, e.g. my score went down by 0.8)

As for schools ... good old wikipedia has all the answers :P

Especially without a good teacher you will be absolutely fucked. That's why most of the high achieving students in Eco are from the best government schools or rich inner city private schools.
What do you count as 'high achieving'? I think I did pretty well in Eco, and my school is 'under-represented' or whatever. Still, I did have a good teacher.

I think it would be more difficult to learn economics on your own than business management in a class. However, economics can potentially be more rewarding. I'm not doing economics at all in uni, but what I learned in high school is still quite relevant for all of my current subjects, politics and anthropology for instance, but also in subjects you wouldn't expect like philosophy. But then again, all knowledge is useful.

High achieving meaning 40+. I looked at the schools that people came from that got 40+ last year and they are 'mostly' but not limited to rich inner city schools or top public schools.

However, this may also be because more elite schools are the ones who usually offer this subject while BusMan is more of an average persons subject
