Questions about ANU

I don't think universities care about work ethic specifically. They care about what will make their graduates highly demanded by the workplace. That may be work ethic, but it also comes down to other factors.

Ok. When you were hypocritical...
(1) You say people can "share their opinions." But when I said I disagreed with your notion that: You need to study to do well in VCE, and suggested this isn't always the case, you ignored my opinion, right?
Your reply: "And how, exactly, do people perform well in exams/SAC? By magic? No...study."
Clearly ignoring what I had written earlier and going on to repeat yourself (when people had gotten the message the first time, and didn't agree... nonetheless, there opinions, ignored)


(2) You say everyone has a right to their opinion. How about my opinion that this topic is stupid and pointless, and that I shouldn't have posted. Your Response: "Why? Forums are for discussion, and everyone can share their opinion..."
The fact that I shouldn't have posted WAS my opinion, let me share it?

(3) Your being hypocritical right now when you say you were trying to "conclude" the off-topicness, because Costa had clearly done so a while back ("The ENTER indicates the performance of the in question student on their SAC's and exams (and sometimes the GAT). End of story)
but you insisted on keeping it going.

I'm just amused that you had a go at me for being persistent a while back. Look who's hypocritical now? I could write a lot more in reply, but I have to do a week's worth of work for Distance Ed now...

(1) Oh, okay; the fact that someone's opinions differ to mine makes my a hypocrite. Makes sense. In the future, I'll make sure to wholeheartedly agree 100% with everything anyone ever says.

(2) When I read your post, the "maybe I shouldn't have posted" didn't seem to be pertinent to the rest of the post; it seemed to be more a side note due to the fact that you didn't want to be involved in a tiny argument. By the way, what makes this topic more pointless than many others you post in?

(3) I was concluded something between you and me. I wouldn't have someone else conclude something I was involved in.


Also, I was the one labelled "wrong" because someone didn't agree with what I had to say. Stop acting like I said you were wrong, and get over that people won't always agree with you.

Heh. I'm not that elitist... Well, in some ways, admittedly. But my point stands: universities want intelligent students, which they believe is proportional in some way to ENTER. How proportional... well, that's where the debate begins.

There's no straight Law degree; you have to pair it with something. It's always 95 ENTER for Law/- though.

Is the law course in heavy demand?, because it needs an enter of 95 and my enter will be around 92 (do I have a chance).

And with the VTAC and UAC, can I fill out 12 uni courses for VTAC and five for UAC, or is there a limit?

The number of courses you fill in for VTAC has no effect on the number you fill out for VTAC.

The 95 ENTER requirement is a fixed cutoff; demand has no effect on it, it's always 95. However, you can get around this by phoning up the Dean of Law or seeing them in person once you've got your ENTER and plead your case - I've heard they've often taken people in with an ENTER a few points below if they're enthusiastic enough.

Bruce won it in '06, Johns last year. To be honest, I'm not really sure how they won, they weren't great in most Arts events if I remember correctly. Maybe they just consistantly came in the top 3. Plus Arts events are pretty random - they include chess, pool, poker...

So no, I'd say that sport is pretty much the only thing they're good at.
