My plan: get least 8.5 hours of sleep each night (early night, early morning sort of thing)
I find that making lists help as well as having a set time to finish a particular thing.

Say no to procrastinating! :D

Work your arse off people- it pays great dividends :) And remember- you have almost four months off after exams to make up for the lack of relaxation you've engaged in this year. You only do year 12 once so you may as well make the most of the opportunity to perform the best as possible.

I never had a study timetable or anything. Actually I don't think I did much study in the spring holidays in yr12 - just one or two spec practise exams, and working on my french oral.

My advice would be to be realistic. Don't make a study plan that means you'll be feeling stressed and under pressure to be studying too much of the time. Make sure you keep your head.

lol I made up a study timetable which meant I would get in 10 hours a day of study ... and I ended up with an average of 1.5 hours per day. Mostly because I'm a very lazy person and prone to procrastination (I spent my time re-reading the Harry Potter books, I mean honestly ...)

My advice would be to be realistic in your goal setting >< otherwise you'll just feel like shit at the end of the holidays because you'll feel like you haven't done anything.

Also, don't spend 90% of your time on one subject like caramel said but also don't feel like you have to divide up your time evenly. English was easy for me whereas chem was something I needed to work at so I spent a lot more time on chem than on English (and ended up with the same study score for both subjects!)

                           You're not alone :)

I remember playing Zelda for 8 hours a day on a Wii during the spring holidays...

I just did some practice exams and wrote english essays, didn't do too much work and relaxed plenty, thanks in part to a holiday to Perth.

For me, the term 3 holidays was when I started taking my study seriously, and started to up the tempo in terms of the amount of work and effort I put in. It wasn't as though I was literally studying all day every day, I was still procrastinating from time to time, however I ensured I was consistent and completed all the checkpoints questions and exam questions that I set myself to do.

Over these holidays, I plan to study for maths every day (that is an absolute must :P),  then throw in English, preparation for my Italian oral, an maybe Legal... Only if I can be bothered (probably going to get low 30's for it, so I don't really care...)

But my bid for these upcoming two weeks, study like crazy, especially for maths, and let's see if those D's can miraculously become C's or B's come exam time! :)

Work ur ass off 1st week, then take 2nd week off.

U'll need a lil time now 2 recharge, coz u won't get another chance until after exams.

My friend worked way 2 hard and burnt out jst b4 exams - her 90-something potential yielded an 80-something ENTER coz of it.

My holidays will be something along these lines.

Week one:
- Revise the study guide of each subject.
- At least 5 hours per day. (1 hour per day per subject on average)

Week two:
- PRACTICE EXAMS and many of them.
- At least 4 hours a day.

I don't think I'm brave enough to take more than a couple of days off, I'll just get paranoid and freak out.

is there much to do in Perth? Going there in December.

I have to go there about 2-3 times a year, because my extended family lives there.

Its good in summer, especially if you like the beach.

Go to rottnest island if you can, heaps of teenagers around there for leavers early december.
Cottesloe and City Beach are also really good beaches
Plus Cities good some good shops.

Although Perth's got nothing on Melbourne, and after a while it gets fairly boring

We get a 3-week holiday. So I am already on holiday :D

I am trying to get as much revision done as I can, and am roughly following a study timetable which I created especially for these hols. I have decided I am going to study only throughout the week, and then have breaks with no study on the weekends. I am trying to get 5-6 hours of work done per day.

Lol, no weekends? I would go mental if I never studied on the weekends. I guess it's just my innate nature to study on the weekends. Even if I am as sick as a dog, I would still study on the weekends at the State Library. I didn't want to contaminate any of the other students I'm competing against, though. ;)
