Yeh mate, we got some good questions for that, I'l put them up later if you want.

Its actually an important to topic, I got to look at the wider stuff now, like previous budgets, and possible questions.

Oh ok cool. Yeh well on my last SAC ever for economics there was a question on it and we hadn't even studied it at all but I answered it anyway (it was worth 6 marks) and then after I asked the teacher if my answer was correct (in terms of how I described whether the policies in relation to inflation, eco growth and full employment were compatible, she said I was on the ball [and that we shouldn't have been assessed on it because we hadn't studied it yet, hence she was going to mark really leniently].

I haven't gone through Section B of economics exams yet, only multiple choice. So I really don't know what's on them. Is there a proportionately large amount of marks allocated to this?

I haven't done many examples, but its come up on both. They aren't too hard, its just applying knowledge of each one and having a good understand about how the policies can connect. The question on the last exam I did was;

Explain why there has been a housing boom in recent years. Include the current government budgetary, monetary and microeconomic policy mix in your response (7 marks)

Moderately happy with how much work I did. Definately could've done more but still achieved most of what I wanted.

Happy with:
- Managed a total of 50+ hours over the whole two weeks.
- Revised pretty much the whole course in methods/futher.
- Finished about 7 methods exams.
- Finshed about 5 further exams.
- Completed 2004-2007 eco exams.
- Did about 3 text responses and 3 context essays in english.

Not happy with:
- Took too long to revise and didn't spend long enough on practice exams.
- Didn't revise unit 4 physics.
- Probably set unrealistic goals at the start(eg. complete >15 exams in methods/further).
- I still suck balls at English.

Ouch ok. Geez I don't like economics questions.

Something like.
Budgetary policy- a budhget outlay- first home buyers grant of $X (where X is a value I can't remember) which increased the affordability of housing for first home buyers in the market relative to those who weren't first home buyers. This increased the value of housing as there were more demand for housing and supply was not able to keep up with demand. This pushed the equilbirium price up to a level where demand and supply was met, where those who could no longer afford to purchase a house were pushed out of the market.
Monetary- Relatively low interest rates (the cash rate of around 6.5%-6.75% at the time) meant that the cost of credit was cheap. This meant more people could afford to purchase a house which increased demand.
Monetary and budgetary = compatible???
Microeconomic- No fucken idea. Higher regulation of the real estate market??? :S

I did 1 prac exam for english, methods and french at school. 100% sure failed methods ones.
Other then that I've done absolutely nothing.

I have 5 SACs this week, 2 next week, my Flute AMEB 8th Grade exam is in 10 days and I still can't play my orchestral excerpts or scales. Also haven't found an accompanist yet due to irrational fear of calling strangers.

I have a serious procrastination problem. I am yet to start any holiday homework. School is tomorrow.

I am so fucked.

@costa

To get full marks on that question (according to TSSM) you need to mention about

Negative gearing
New home buyers grant
good economic growth
declining exports due to many economies in recession
low aus interest rates.

But that doesn't mention much about micro, you could probs talk about improved efficiency, that resulted in the housing industry

wow ok. shit there is so much to talk about. I wouldn't have thought of speaking about negative gearing, even though it seems the most logical place to start.

Thanks
