theres nuthing special about this program apart from the food they offer you on social events and open days.

i guess meeting new people is great and it looks good on your resume, but if you don't get it, don't worry about it.

but its really beneficial for rural students. they get $$$ if they choose to move down to Melbourne to live.
I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER!!

That's a good idea, by the time they got this years lot sorted out we didn't really have any time to take advantage of whatever being a KLD'er encompasses.
Hopefully 1st year uni will give us more of an opportunity to 'undertake leadership programs' like they said we would.

Or something like that.

The lapel pin they sent us was a nice touch. :)

our school nominated a few, but that was a week before the due date (last month), so...

dont that thing come back around the same time as enhancement programs? they assess u on ur reports or something?

btw how many scholarships do they normally approve per yr level? this year my school got 2 in, and we nominated 5 in the oncoming year, so...

lol good luck all

yep i remember my teacher gave them our study scores for the 3/4's we did in year 11, and they might see your year 11 report also.  Alot of the people I talked to said there was 1 or 2 people from their school chosen. One girl said their was 3 from her school. I doubt they'd pick all 5, but I think they say they pick at least 1. So if you were the only one nominated your guaranteed to get in haha

He has been a victim of teacher selection. Further Maths prize went to some guy who ended up not getting 50, brendan gets 50.

Haha, why would you choose the skip over the Asian, seriously?   (j/k)

the whole program is a marketing ploy. a girl at school got it and her mailbox is constantly full of unimelb propaganda.

anyway i asked my career's counsellor about it and she said it was all about marketing. see, universities aren't allowed to get names of students to send them things normally, but if they brand it as a "scholarship program" then it is legit. so basically unimelb are just getting the names and addresses of the state's top students to get them into the new generation courses...

yeah we all know it's just to advertise their new generation courses, but if I get $2500 to relocate and $2500 to study abroad (although I think most people are eligible for that anyway) I don't really care
