I got an overall score of 60 and 91%ile overall.

I'm relieved that results are out on one hand, but I feel even more uncertain about my chances after receiving my results than I did before.

Does anyone know if 59 score last year was a similar %ile to 59 this year?

Because I was thinking that the difference between 59 and 60 scores seems quite small, but maybe the %gap between the two might be more comforting?

PS: Is there an approximate date for interview offers for Monash to be released?

Thanks.

ok, some one tell me realistic chances of getting an interview at any university for med in australia (i applied to all)

percentile of 93 with an overall of 61
i dont know if the combined scores count but a total of 182 and WUMAT of 246.

appreciate your help.
ham.
If you applied to all of them, you should definitely get a couple with an overall like that. I had 98 percentile and 65 overall, and that got me into first round UNSW, so with a 61, I'm pretty sure you'll be fine. Only one no-one's really certain about right now is Monash because the competition is going to be a killer...Hopefully it stays roughly around the same as last year...

Here's the ranking curves for anyone who's interested, since you need to actually log-in to see them. And yes, judging from the first graph, overall 81 is possible...although its literally the top .5% or so =P

Golfa: If its 81/100, I'll assume its a percentile since overall score doesn't have a upper bound. And in that case, its decent for stuff like pharm or optom I'd say, but for med...mmm..I'd say at least 90s?

what does overall mean, do they average out the three sections?

and also, how many qsts. do you need to get correct to be in the top 90th percentile?

No one knows how ACER works out the scaled section scores so yeh, it's really quite strange. To be in the 90th percentile from that graph above, you had to of had a scaled score of ~60, but yeh, yet again no one really knows how that's calculated since ACER seems to give different weighting to different questions and such, so it's quite hard to answer both of your questions =S

EDIT: Took out incorrect info =T

Aww... Don't feel so disheartened everyone! There are still many other avenues for opportunity to pursue a career in Medicine, Dentistry, and other fields of interest where the UMAT is concerned. Try traveling interstate. I have heard in Adelaide, you require an ENTER of 90, and UMAT scores are not as essential as they are at Monash and Melbourne. Or, go to another University, work yourself silly, and then get a transfer after a year. There are a plethora of opportunities to pursue your goals... NEVER GIVE UP!

If u did look at the scores u got for each section and then add them up and divide by three, u'll find that's your overall scrore! So basically it's the average out of the three sections!

But as for how many q's u need to get right to be in a certain percentile, I can't help ya with that  :(
... Only ACER knows  :)

im a bit disappointed. i only got 55 overall (76th percentile). I try to make myself feel better by saying only smart ppl do it so 76th isnt so bad :P
also im sorta confused. i had to guess the last 10-15 questions for section 1 but i was certain i only got one maybe two questions wrong in section 3 yet i got a 53 for 1 and 57 for two....
well lucky the course i wanna do doesnt need the UMAT :P
