Your schools report card

St John's Regional College- Dandenong

10% of students achieved an ENTER of 90 or more
25% of students achieved an ENTER of 80 or more
44% of students achieved an ENTER of 70 or more

Does this mean that the 25% included  in an ENTER of 80 or more is also included in the 10% that got 90 or more? ie. Did 66% of my school get an ENTER less than 70 or 21% of students?

If it is the first option, that's terrible

As far as I know my school hasn't published a report card of any kind beyond the ordinary 'congratulations year 12s!!!!!' spiel in the newsletter.

In a cohort of something like 52:
2 people got above 95
2 people got above 90
3 people got above 85

I'm sketchy about any further details because I don't really know everyone's ENTER (it's kind of rude to just ask). The most popular tertiary institution for people from my school was NMIT, then I think LaTrobe and RMIT.

From what I remember, my school had 50% above an Enter of 89. Which is pretty good considering we had around 100 girls at our school last year.

What's the state average?
2007 - History Revolutions (35)
2008 - English (40), Literature (37), National Politics (37), Maths Methods (32), History Renaissance (39)
ENTER: 93.20

2009 - Bachelor of Arts (ANU)
2010 - Bachelor of Classical Studies (ANU)
Majors: Ancient Greek, Ancient History, Archaeology

60-something. It would make sense if it was exactly 50, but for whatever reason it isn't.

The reason why the median is usually in the low to mid 60's is becuase the state cohort used also includes those that dropped out after year 10. Somehow, their ENTERs are predicted such that they correspond to what they might have gotten if they stayed all the way through to year 12. Hence, if these people are included, then the median ENTER will be 50 or thereabouts.

As for my school, our year was the equal best performing year in my time at the school with another year level, with 8 people getting over 90 (well one guy got 89.95 haha), 4 of which got over 95 out of a class of 100 or so students. The median study score is almost always around the 28 mark, and the unis of choice are RMIT or VU, and their respective TAFEs.
