Omg I did that one today, it's from the VATE practice exam.

Possibly the worst conflict topic ever, I was talking out of my arse for most of it.

i've done that VATE practice exam last term and the LA section totally sucked...

yeah i didnt like the LA and conflict prompt, but i liked the topic for Look both ways, i did the one about how the directer suggests the thoughts and feelings of the characters. but i think it was good practise overall, i was shocked how good my time management was, i did like 4 pages for each section, and i reckon i spent about 10 mins of the 3 hrs just sitting there looking around having a little break haha. but they werent my best essays, so i doubt ill be having a nice break in the actual exam!

I done it on the second Friday of the term three holidays. I thought it was fun, but we didn't have enough time to edit our work. I am seriously contemplating whether I should write an imaginative diary entry for the context section. I would do it in the perceptions of Thornhill... etc... It could be a huge risk, but I'm willing to take it.

for conflict i always write like catherine deveny and just do an article exploring the prompt, its so fun, because she is such a bitch!

how do we write context pieces? my context is the imaginative landscape and fly away peter and island are my texts. my teacher has not really explained it properly. im scared for the exam

when writing in context you can have a very flexible style eg- you can be creative (write letters) be persuasive (give a speech, letter to the editor) do expository (feature article, simple essay)
so its pretty good as it allows you to do whats best for you.
my teacher was saying if all else fails, do an interview with the author but it would have to be amazing and detailed to get a good mark.
i just stick to deveny.
