Hello. Just came across this site, signed up, had a look through the forums..and found this

I too do Italian, and had my oral on the first day of this term. Not sure how many people also did it..but it was damn scary! Up until I got into the room that is. It's horrible how they make you wait outside..I could see the two examiners through the window, and was just dreading the moment they came out to call me in. But as soon as I greeted them, it was mostly fine...and over in a flash. It went unbelievably fast..I'd realised they'd asked me to start the Detailed Study, but it took a few seconds to register, as I felt we'd only just started :O
When they asked something I wasn't too sure about, I just said something about what I
thought they said, and judging by their expressions, I must have been on the right track

Same deal if I didn't have much of an answer..I kinda beat around the bush, but they just ask something else if you falter too much.
Sorry to hear about your bad experience..mine was actually ok, but I can't really say anything until I see the results
I find it hard, because pretty much everyone else in my class is Italian, and if not, they have been to Italy..therefore it's a bit hard on me. No excuses I guess, but it certainly doesn't help that I'm terrible at studying, and do barely any work at all!
What did help were the conversation sessions I had with a sister's friend who had just been to Italy for almost 6 months. I had one each week for the entire 3rd term, probably around an hour each. Was good just to practice..didn't matter what we spoke about. English was spoken at times, naturally..sometimes it can be too difficult to convey everything in Italian :/
Also, our teacher held a number of classes on the holidays leading up to the oral for us to practice with her. I attended 3 of those, and that helped a lot..as she could see what areas needed improving, and what we should say instead of something else etc. Oh and our whole class went to an Italian Conversation Class thing held by a group called Co.As.It, where someone spoke to us about what to expect, and how we should greet the examiners, what to say if we were unsure of what had been asked etc.
All in all, I hope I did ok..and same with you

I've been getting about 60-70% average on SACs, and got 75% on practice exam (incl. listening, my weakest area)..but I still don't know what to hope for. What can I expect with those kind of results? The whole system confuses me :|
Sorry for massive post
