Nominated? Nope. All my school awards are based off VCAA results (hence, our valedictory dinner is the night after results day). Have you been nominated for something?

I got:
School maths prize
The someone memorial prize for science (2 people from each campus get these)

and also the very elusive 'school library prize' which only 1 person gets/year which is probably the least prestigious award of the lot but hey I have an award for service to the school which demonstrates my willingness to help others yada yada I am happy to ride this :P

Never got any general academic achievement ones because I obviously am not good in all areas (they made me think I failed at english pretty much)

I got sent a letter saying I'd received an award for excellence in year 12 psychology and literature. It will be presented to me at speech night. So, yeah. I'm excited :)

*Now waits for Costa to tell everyone his exciting news...* :D

My school gives awards for each subject, but we don't find out until afew days before speech night(after exams).

However, speech night is in November so they won't know our results. I assume they just base it on SAC's, attitude etc.

In year 12 I got Dux, an English award, general academic achievement, academic endeavor, and female swimming champion. There was also a mention of my university award. Apart from dux, all of these were awarded before results came out.

My school gives out 'excellence' awards based on your SAC scores in a subject, and probably some other random awards.

LOL, jess it's not that exciting. I wanted to see what other people were nominated for if they had awards like our school.

Our school nominates students from years 7-12 for all areas of study (ie. maths, technology, arts etc) based on our results throughout the year.

This year I was nominated for the humanities award (the faculty in charge of VCE Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Legal Studies and lower year/s commerce).

Awards night is next Thursday, 2 days after year 12 is over. If I don't win it I'm gonna kick a hissy fit haha

We have our Val before we get our results, and we have our 'award ceremony' on december 15th.

Btw- what actually goes on at a valedictory dinner? People i have spoken to are being very vague, they just say that people eat, give awards etc. What awards to they actually have?
