I would have most schools would realise that anyone and everything can happen at this time of the year so they would post teachers around the school in between classes and break times...I mean how could you not realise that flour is being poured around the Year 12 block and that fireworks/crackers were being let off in the common room???? and that a huge bunch of kids suddenly wanted to play on the oval one day...

Wow... I had always thought of Xavier College as a highly commendable school with a great reputation to follow. It just goes to show that not every school is perfect. So relieved that it is not only my school in the news for reasons similar to this. :)

The media was picking on them a while last year, every school has drug problems (except maybe MHS and MacRob :P)

Absolutely the best 'muck up' day ever from the Xavier boys. Catching the tram to school with about 20 of them as we tried to 'rock the tram' was fun but that was LOL.

Private schools in general tend to have a culture based on rowdiness, so this incident doesn't really surprise me that much.

If we pulled something like that (I go to a public school), we'd be expelled and made to find another school to enroll at to sit the exams.

But still, that's hilarious. I love it when other people do the stupid things I would never do.

It wasn't even their Muck Up day. My friend who goes there says its supposed to be Wednesday, but since this stuff happened today, they cancelled all their classes and banned them from coming to school the next few days. They literally escorted them onto the streets half way through classes. What does the school expect if they dump 250 kids on to the streets and say "You've finished school forever now, btw, and you're not a responsibility".

In separate incidents yesterday, The Age understands some Xavier students let off fireworks at Balaclava train station, while three others ran through school assembly wearing little else but their school ties as g-strings

All schools have teenagers, and a proportion of teenagers will always be experimenting with drugs. No school is immune from drug usage.
