For risk management, it is mainly general knowledge stuff!

You need to know the basic ways to prevent risks, e.g. adequate equipment, qualified coaches, edven surfaces. But you don't need to specifically kow the "number' of steps.

The process of risk management, if that is what you are after:
- Establish Context: identify the sport for which you are managing the risks
- identify risks
- assess risks
- treat risks
- monitor and review: basically see how effective your risk management was.

The basic ways to prevent risks ( and probably all you'll need to know for the exam) are:
- Coaching
- Supervision
- First Aid
- Equipment and facilities
- Clothing and protective gear
- Weather conditions ( heat, storms etc )

I don't believe we will need to know any more than that for the exam. It's mainly general knowledge of how to keep an athlete 'safe' while participating in sport.

they usually give you a scenario, and ask how you can prevent this from happening, what can be improved, etc.

I doubt they'll assess you by asking you to recite the "steps" in order, mainly due to the fact that the PE texts have different versions.

However, if they ask a quesiton on risk management steps, it will have most likely be asking you to demonstrate the ability to apply the step to a scenario.

E.g.

Q. A local rugby club is "assessing its risks" why is this important?

A. Because some risks cannot be avoided and the club will have to accept the fact that some injuries are unpreventable due to the rough, physical nature of the game

2008 ENTER: 97.35

ENG: 40 -> 39.45
PE: 49 -> 48.89
BM: 45 -> 43.43
ChineseSL: 33 -> 44.35
Methods: 22 -> 26.55
Viscom(2007): 41 -> 38.18

I did that prac exam today haha. It was the achper one right? It was so tedious, especially towards the end because the questions seemed to never end. Has the vcaa exam ever had that many questions?
