What does anyone think the issue in the Analysis section of the exam will be? Im not too sure.
Fingerscrossed its an issue im familiar with, and nothing that will be difficult to understand.

Hopefully only 1 piece to write on and 1 image :)

It's unlikely to be an issue you're very familiar with, if its even a major issue at all. VCAA will tend to avoid current controversial issues since people can even get offended by certain things, so stuff like abortion and so on won't be on it. They tend to just doctor articles and make up random stuff like chickens going berserk (i.e. sample exam) which are pretty straight-forward so that people can just focus on analysing language. Besides, theres usually an 'intro' sorta thing that leads in to the article so you can get a grasp of the issue.

Nevertheless, i can see misskaraleah's point. If the issue is somewhat interesting in any way it will make it more enjoyable (if that's humanly possible) to analyse. However, it probably will be something boring, because VCAA are boring.Personally, I want it to be on something that concerns the younger generation. For example, binge drinking or the new red P plate restriction laws. In my opinion, those sorts of issues would engage me more than, say, the benefits of handwriting letters as opposed to using technological forms of communication (i did that for a sample and it sucked lol.)

I'm just hoping it'll be a more emotionally-charged issue rather than a rational and logical one. Those are a BITCH to analyse since explaining logical arguments are quite hard...Emotional ones just tend to be something like....this is intended to make readers feel sympathy for etcetc easy :]

The exams were written a VERY long time ago, so I doubt it will be about banning of muck up day :P
I'm thinking either hoon-driving, perhaps binge-drinking or global warming.

The VATE practice english exam section C dealt with the resources crisis (eg. petrol, water etc). VATE has been known to get it right occasionally so who knows :D
