How do the SAC marks work? (Sorry if this has already been answered)
I mean, is this just an average result from the schools that got a particular SS? Or how does it do rankings and all that?
A bit confused :S

Refer to Toothy's post here.

Can Toothy's post be stickied under, 'explanation of SAC rankings' on Technical Discussion? So many people ask that question...

Wow that's awesome.  If it's accurate and I do how I'd like in my exams I'd be looking at a very nice score.

I hope i'm allowed to revive this thread,

But could some people who have gotten SS, please post if this wonderful program is accurate! It may help many of us feel calmer. I know Mao said it wasn't, but give him credit!

Well I did legal studies last year and got a 37 raw.  The estimator says

Lower: 37
Upper: 39

So it's pretty accurate.
If you know the exact score you got for a Graded Assessment you can enter that as the lower and upper values in the grade range interval.  That will make it even more accurate.  But that being said, it won't account for moderation of SAC marks.

Still, pretty good assuming your cohort is neither incredibly brilliant or incredibly bad.

LOL. In the excel document, if you look at the bottom it says
sheet 1
sheet 2
sheet 3
something along those lines....enter the data into sheet 2.

hmmm i don't think is completely accurate for psychology, as getting 175/180 on both exams with high SAC marks, says its 44/45. when it would definitely be 45+ and if i put in full marks on both exams, it says 48-50. but i've spoke to people who have lost a few marks accross both exams and still got 50! stressful. i really hope it's not perfectly accurate as then getting 44+ won't see as impossible:)
