If operant was the answer for part A, they gave students the answer through their wording in the question of part B..  they wouldn't do that.

ok i no its been over but i still don't understand james conditioning type ..

originally it sounds like classical because anxiety is innate/reflex like,
but then question B talks about reinforcement, that couldn't be classical ..

my theory was that either answer could of been accepted as llong as it was backed up please tell me my theory is correct or ive lost at least 5 stupid marks

if operant's wrong, you only would've lost one mark for stating it in the question which asked which type of conditioning it was

i agree with others who said James' thing was Classical Conditioning - as the anxiousness about the criticism has become associated with arriving at work - which was previously a NS and now would be considered a CS.

I put classical conditioning, but my teacher said that they're going to accept either operant or classical (he's been marking for years and really knows his stuff) because of the wording of the question it could be either.
so everyone's right, unless you put observational learning or something  :P

Regarding 31.

Having fun while baking scones with his grandmother is...

I thought that the "fun" was the UCS and that the actual "happiness" (like in question 30) was the UCR?

for 42.

Punishment discourages bad behaviour doesn't it? Or am i interpreting the question incorrectly? ><

Both of those statements sound correct to me, they are what I chose.

The only discrepancy between mine and sisquos multi-choice answers is:

37. Edward L. Thordike used the term ________ learning to explain learning that was essentially random; I thought Thorndike had called it vicarious learning, even though its almost always called trial and error learning in our course, but it seems no one else does :(. If he didn't call it that then who did?

38.Skinner termed these favorable consequences as ________; I put reward for this I know they are almost always referred to as reinforcements in our study design again, but I thought this question was designed to trick in a similar way t othe last one, I know I have heard it being called rewards in some context of Skinner though.

Probably just over-analyzed those questions and they were actually just the obvious easy answers....oh well

in regards the 37. i thought vicarious learning was from observational learning. i could be wrong though. and i'm pretty sure reinforcement was the answer they wanted in 38

just a quick question, what happens to those people who have to sit their exams at a different date, because maybe they were in hospital, so they check online here and they get a copy of the exam? is that possible?

These people get derived scores. They do not get to do the exam later than others, this was changed by VCAA to prevent cheating from happening.

The question asked "what type of learning", so the answer would be classical conditioning...conditioned emotional response does not answer the question.
