phones/ipods in exams

so for my lit exam, one of the girls left her ipod in her pocket, turned off. one of the supervisors saw it, and said he would have to report her. yesterday in my pe exam, a boys phone alarm went off..twice, it was really loud and it was that insane in the membrane song. the supervisor said he wouldnt report him because it was the "last exam". but i dont get how its the last exam because its not?
i think its a bit weird, i know we should have no electronic devices in the exam hall, but when you compare the ipod situation with the phone...the phone actually disrupted the exam, the ipod did not.

thoughts??

maybe he said it was the last exam meaning it was the last one for the day, not for all exams, and yeh whose to say the shape given by the ipod wasnt a wallet? or hankerchief?
Phone going off in an exam is ridiculous, if our phones go off in class they get confiscated (N)
