What was Q5?
And was Q16 the formatting one?

And my only other MC concern was the Q on which graph to use in MC.

Q5: Joe and his memory stick: he pulled it out before the prompt. C: technical, D: procedural
Q16: The schools chess clubs needs a network, the appropriate transmission media. C:wireless, D: UTP

The graph one was Q10, I put D?

Ahh yes.
5: D
16: D

imo. and yes I put D for 10, was worried it might be a scatter though.

Q5: was D: procedural

A warning came up but the kid failed to follow the warning and just ripped it out.

But it was an accident. It's not like he intended to ignore the message and knew it was important. How do we know whether he acknowledged or knew about the message or its implications?

That was quite easy. I estimate I lost about 1 or 2 marks max. You guys think it was easier than 2007? 2007 was quite eassy also. If I was ranked first, would a loss of 2 marks still get a 50?

I still think it was D. He didn't follow the right procedure.

And yeh if you are ranked first, two marks should get you a 50. If not ranked first then nope :(

Yeah, i'm pretty sure it is a technical fault - he used the wrong procedure but it was a technical fault within his USB that made the file missing.

I reckon the 2007 exam was easier - it didn't have any of those weird formula questions.. overall this just seemed slightly more difficult than last year. IMO i think the cutt of will go up 2 or 3 marks.

i thought that it would be common sense for the kid to know that he has to wait for the message??

I put down 5 as C. Yes, he made a mistake by ripping out the USB stick (procedure), but he cannot access the file because of a technical fault (something wrong with the USB).

For those wondering about the 'x' being intuitive. "The reasons the 'x' button is intuitive include that it is coloured red. This naturally implies a 'stop' or an 'exit' from the current window. Also, the location of the close button is an area where such a control would be expected to be found."

~ I wrote something along those lines anyway.

should be procedural because it is stated by the operating system to properly eject the drive before removal. that is a procedure. Technical would be if he saved it ejected it properly then it failed.

Oh SWEET I remembered the VLOOKUP I thought I would have got it wrong. Jsimmo this is the syntax for it:

VLOOKUP(lookup_value,table_array,col_index_num)

=D Hopefully you remembered it correctly as well.

you possibly needed to use absolute values instead of just saying "table_array" because of what the question was asking. (dragging to the other cells)

That was just the syntax man. I actually did use absolute cell referencing.
